All COVID-19 cases linked to the downtown Earls have recovered.

The province officially declared an outbreak at the restaurant last week after seven individuals had tested positive for the virus. Outbreaks are declared when at least five cases are linked to one location.

“I want to state that safety is of the utmost importance and we take all protocols and AHS systems to keep both our staff and our guests’ safety very seriously,” said Stu Wigle, Earls’ Managing Partner.

“None of the cases were deemed transmitted in the restaurant and Earls has been and continues to be a great and safe place.”

Despite all individuals recovering, the outbreak won’t be declared over until there’s been one month without any new cases. Wigle says there haven’t been any new cases for over two weeks.

Meanwhile, the Earls outbreak is one of five currently active in the RMWB.

They’ve also been declared at Syncrude, Suncor’s Base Plant, CNRL’s Albian site, and the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.
