Eight New COVID-19 Cases in Fort McMurray, Four Additional Recoveries

Eight new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Thursday 107 new cases across the province.

This raises the provincial total to 16,381 with 1,424 currently active.

Fort McMurray also saw four additional recoveries with the active total sitting at 48.

The rural areas didn’t see any new changes over the past 24 hours, keeping the total of active cases at four.

In total, 227 individuals across the RMWB – 167 in Fort McMurray and 60 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 14,702 across the province. This represents nearly 90 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there were was one new death from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 255.

One of the deaths has been in Fort McMurray.
