Fourteen New COVID-19 Cases in Wood Buffalo, 17 Additional Recoveries

Thirteen more cases of COVID-19 are being discovered in Fort McMurray over the weekend

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced 418 new cases across the province in the last three days.

This raises the provincial total to 15,833 with 1,538 currently active.

The active total in Fort McMurray is down to 51 as 16 other individuals have recovered.

The rural areas also added a new case, however, the total of active cases remains at four as another individual has also recovered.

In total, 202 individuals across the RMWB – 143 in Fort McMurray and 59 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 14,041 across the province. This represents over 88 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, one more person has died from COVID-19 in Alberta – raising the total to 254.

One of the deaths has been in Fort McMurray.
