Eight New COVID-19 Cases in Fort McMurray, Nine Additional Recoveries

Eight new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Friday 110 new cases across the province.

This raises the provincial total to 15,415 with 1,444 currently active.

The active total in Fort McMurray did go down to 54 as nine individuals also recovered for the third day in a row.

There were no changes in the rural areas as four individuals continue to have the virus.

In total, 185 individuals across the RMWB – 127 in Fort McMurray and 58 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 13,718 across the province. This represents nearly 89 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, one more person has died from COVID-19 in Alberta – raising the total to 253.

One of the deaths has been in Fort McMurray.
