Syncrude’s COVID-19 Case Count Rises to 23

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at Syncrude has risen from 11 on Friday to 23.
Spokesperson Will Gibson tell’s Mix News, four have recovered leaving 19 active cases.
Those who are still active are self isolating off site.
In March, Syncrude moved to only critical staff on site with all others working from home.
“Syncrude has been encouraging their employees to wear masks in all public spaces, not just as work, and to continue to follow all AHS guidelines both on and off site,” says Gibson.
In accordance with the Government of Alberta’s reopening phases, Syncrude was staggering their employees returning to work, however, they’ve asked their staff at both Mildred and Aurora to return to working remotely again.
