Fort McMurray Sees Four New COVID-19 Cases

Four new cases of COVID-19 are being discovered in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Thursday 130 new cases across the province. This raises the provincial total to 14,310 with 1,415 currently active.

Fort McMurray now has 31 active cases after seeing an additional recovery.

The rural areas didn’t see any new changes with one case remaining active.

Across the RMWB, 148 individuals – 88 in Fort McMurray and 60 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.

They are among the 12,653 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 88 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there were no new deaths from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours – keeping the death toll at 242.

None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
