One New COVID-19 Case in Fort McMurray and Rural Areas

Two new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Wood Buffalo.

The province announced 114 new cases across Alberta on Wednesday. This raises the provincial total to 14,180 with 1,403 currently active.

Fort McMurray added one case, however, the active cases are now at 28 after four more recoveries.

The rural areas also saw a new case which makes it the only active case outside of the urban service area.

Across the RMWB, 147 individuals – 87 in Fort McMurray and 60 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.

They are among the 12,535 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents just over 88 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, one more person has died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours – raising the provincial death toll to 242.

None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
