Mammography Trailer Visiting Fort McMurray First Nation, Fort McKay, and Conklin

Women in multiple rural communities are getting a chance to get a test to see if they have cancer.

A mobile mammography trailer will be visiting the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation, Fort McKay First Nation, and Conklin later this month.

A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast and has been proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer.

The trailer will be stationed at the Dorothy McDonald Business Centre in Fort McKay First Nation on Sept. 22 and 23, the Band Office at the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation on Sept. 2, and at the Conklin Multiplex on Sept. 25.

Women in Janvier are encouraged to book an appointment in Conklin. Starting this year, the trailer will be alternating between Janvier and Conklin.

Women between the ages of 50 and 74 can book an appointment by calling 1-800-667-0604. Details about COVID-19 measures at the trailer will be shared during the call.
