Confirmed COVID 19 Case at Lynx Lodge North of Fort McMurray

An individual at Civeo’s Lynx Lodge work camp has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a letter sent from Civeo, which oversees the camping lodge 26 km northwest of Fort McMurray, the individual traveled to the site alone and while undergoing their initial screening by the on-site nurse it was determined they had symptoms.

They were immediately transferred to an isolation dorm.

Alberta Health Services confirmed the case to Civeo on Monday and contact tracing is underway.

Civeo is asking employees who’re working on-site and aren’t showing any symptoms to continue completing the daily COVID-19 protocol screening, while those with any symptoms should isolate themselves in their dorm and contact their supervisor.

Individuals currently off-site without symptoms should monitor themselves, while those with symptoms are asked to self-isolate for 14 days and follow their regional guidelines for further steps.
