Five more cases of COVID-19 are being discovered in Fort McMurray.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Thursday 108 new cases across the province.
This raises the provincial total to 13,318 with 1,158 currently active.
Fort McMurray also saw an additional recovery which put the active total at 18.
The rural areas continue to have no active cases.
Across the RMWB, 136 individuals – 76 in Fort McMurray and 60 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 11,923 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 89 per cent of reported cases.
Meanwhile, there were two more deaths from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours – raising the death toll to 237.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
