Two New COVID-19 Cases in Fort McMurray

Two more cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Thursday 103 new cases across the province.

This raises the provincial total to 12,604 with 1,084 currently active.

The new local cases raises the active total in Fort McMurray to six.

Only one active case remains in the rural areas after an additional recovery.

Across the RMWB, 131 individuals – 72 in Fort McMurray and 59 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.

They are among the 11,292 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 89 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, one more person has died from the virus in Alberta – putting the death toll at 228.

None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
