No one is injured after a fire at Suncor Energy’s Base Plant, north of Fort McMurray.

On Friday evening, the oil company’s emergency services department responded to a blaze in the extraction area of the site.

They were able to quickly get the fire under control.

The extraction and surrounding areas had been evacuated and everyone was accounted for.

Suncor says they’ve notified the appropriate regulators and in the progress of informing local stakeholders.

The extent of damage and impact to operations are currently unknown.
