A 21-year-old woman from Fort Chipewyan is being charged with impaired driving after an ATV collision left one man dead.
On August 3, RCMP were called to MacKenzie Avenue in the hamlet after reports of a pedestrian being hit by an ATV.
The man, who’s age has not been released, was knocked unconscious and sustained serious injuries.
The driver remained at the scene while the police arrived.
He was immediately air-lifted to an Edmonton area hospital in critical condition, eventually passing away on August 12.
The 21-year-old woman who was driving the ATV has since been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired causing death.
She has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on August 19.
