Canada, US Border to Remain Closed for Another 30 Days

Summer travel to the United States is off the table for a little while longer.

Canada and the U.S. have agreed to extend the temporary closure of the border.

Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair announced on Friday the border between the two countries would remain closed to non-essential travel until September 21.

The boarder has been closed too all non-essential travel since March 20.

Supply chains that deliver food, fuel, medicine, and immediate family members of citizens or permanent residents are the only ones allowed to cross the border under the current restrictions.

According to Statistics Canada, in 2019, Canadians took nearly 44 million trips across the US boarder.
