Keyano College is receiving funds to help students who plan to continue their education virtually.
The Wood Buffalo Community Foundation is providing the post-secondary school $17,000 which will be used to create a virtual gathering space.
The area will focus on different activities, such as trivia and music, where students can connect with each other.
“The College wants to ensure its students have a place to connect while virtual learning continues for the Fall 2020 semester,” read a statement from Keyano.
Two student peer facilitators will also use the virtual infrastructure to moderate events while receiving suicide prevention, safe-space, and diversity training.
