The Fort McMurray Food Festival is taking place over the next four days.

The annual fundraiser, which helps raise money for Waypoints, is featuring four events which will look a bit different due to COVID-19.

Getting underway on Friday is the ‘Taste of YMM Eats’ where residents, who’ve signed up, getting the opportunity to experience food from different local restaurants.

The Patio Party takes place on Saturday, however, because of the pandemic, it will be held virtually.

Sunday will feature the ‘Strongman Community Breakfast’ where residents can enjoy their first meal of the day while watching some of the strongest individuals compete in different events.

The four-day festival will end on Monday with their Golf Classic.

Meanwhile, the Anzac Beach Party is being canceled.

The Festival Committee announced on Friday they were axing the event due to the restrictions around COVID-19.

Instead, they will be shifting the barbeque portion of this event to a ‘pick-up-and-go’ where people can grab a burger and make a donation to Waypoints.
