Fort McMurray Youth Arrested in Grande Prairie After Drugs, Firearms Seized

A Fort McMurray youth is facing several drug and firearm-related charges after being arrested in Grande Prairie.

On July 18, Grande Prairie RCMP executed search warrants on four properties, two vehicles, and one storage locker.

There they found 34 grams of cocaine, eight grams of methamphetamine, and eight grams of fentanyl.

They also seized a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, shotgun shells, two 40 calibre pistol magazines containing ammunition, and over $15,000 in cash.

As a result, two men from Edmonton, age 24 and 29, along with the Fort McMurray youth were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and handed several Criminal Code weapons charges.

Each has been released from custody and are slated to make their next court appearance on August 26 in Grande Prairie.
