Vulnerable Population in Region Receiving Funding from Canadian Medical Association Foundation

A donation will help vulnerable populations in our region during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Canadian Medical Association Foundation is providing the RMWB with $40,000 to better assist and protect those in our community who need it most in stopping the spread of the virus.

The money will be allocated to the Centre Of Hope to help with capital improvements required at Marshall House to create a dedicated space for physical distancing.

“To receive this kind of direct funding from an organization like the CMAF is not only a testament to the great work the RMWB and other communities across Canada have been doing since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is also a welcome breath of fresh air.”

“Municipalities have been working hard to keep Canadians safe during these trying times, and this funding will allow us to continue to provide vital services to our residents.”

This donation is part of the $10 million COVID-19 Community Response Fund for Vulnerable Populations which has been handing out funds to Canadian municipalities since the mid-May.
