Local Housing Market Sees Positive Numbers in June

The Fort McMurray housing market is seeing a positive jump in homes sold for the month of June.

That’s according to the Fort McMurray REALTORS monthly report which notes 57 single-family detached homes were sold at an average price of $512,218.

This is compared to the 50 homes which were bought in 2019 at an average price of $531,373.

Even though the price is down, around $19,000, it’s much closer than previous months. Back in May, the price was down around $100,000 from 2019.

Meanwhile, there are 30 new listings – putting the inventory at 195.

“While the monthly gains were significant, it has not erased previous pullbacks as year-to-date sales remain nearly 19 per cent below last years levels,” read the report. “Recent gains can reflect some of the spring demand shifting to June, however, challenges in the market will likely remain.”

The monthly report includes Fort McMurray, Gregoire Lake Estates, Saprae Creek and Anzac and can be found on the Fort McMurray Realtor’s website.
