A local community leader is one of six people receiving a national leadership award.

Nicole Bourque Bouchier, CEO of Bouchier which is one of the biggest employers in Wood Buffalo, is being named a 2020 Catalyst Honours Champion.

Recipients were recognized for their transformational contributions to accelerating progress for women through workplace inclusion and representing the gold standard for inclusive leadership in corporate Canada.

Bourque Bouchier has been an strong advocate for women’s rights in the region with her company currently sponsoring the Girls Inc’s Women of Inspiration Series.

She had also previously been chosen for the WOI program.
