Wood Buffalo-Cold Lake lost another 1,400 jobs in June.

That’s according to Statistics Canada’s monthly report released on Friday which notes the region has seen a decrease of 7,300 positions since February.

The wholesale and retail trade and professional, scientific, and technical services sectors saw the biggest losses, losing around 600 spots each.

The forestry, fishing, mining, quarrying, oil, and gas sector added around 100 jobs month over month.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate rose from 9.9 per cent to 11.6 per cent.

The provincial unemployment rate stayed the same at 15.5 per cent, while federally it went down from 13.7 per cent to 12.3 per cent.
