Recycling Programs, Regular Waste Collection Resuming Across Wood Buffalo

You can once again sort your waste and recyclables.

The RMWB is returning to their normal curbside collection on July 14 after having residents package everything together for around four months to protect workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Household waste must be bagged and placed inside of a black bin, while paper and cardboard recycling must be put in the light blue bins.

During the week of July 14, crews will collect one bin of household waste and one bin of plastic and metal recycling, which must be put in a dark blue bin.

Afterwards, they will resume collecting two bins per household and a maximum of four bags of yard waste.

The municipality is reminding residents to ensure bins are on the curb no later than 7:30 a.m., make sure the front is facing the road, and that each bin is at least one foot from other bins and at least three feet from vehicles.

The RMWB recently bought 19 fully automated trucks which will make the work safer for crews.
