Local Bike Riders Raise Funds MS Society

While many annual fundraisers have moved online, a group of cyclists found a way to make theirs happen in Fort McMurray.

The MS Bike usually spans across two days and sees many riders fundraise by traveling nearly 200 km.

The ‘Cruz-ing Buffaloes’, a team consisting of 6 locals, took their own socially distant ride to Gregoire Provincial Park and back on Saturday.

“Even in amongst COVID-19 and the economic downturn I am blown away with all who donated, thank you so much,” said Shauna MacKinnon, Team Captain.

“They’re finding new things every day to get closer to a cure – and I have hope.”

Together they raised $5,590 dollars for the MS Society.

Donations are still being accepted until the end July.
