Two individuals from Wood Buffalo are facing several firearm-related charges after being arrested in Central Alberta.
On June 22, multiple police groups executed a warrant on a property in Lamont County, northeast of Edmonton.
There they arrested 31-year-old Jeffrey Derrick Hefferan, 25-year-old Daphanie Carol Lee Kreutzer, and an additional man who all had outstanding warrants.
Shortly after the arrests, the Mounties granted a search warrant where they discovered a handgun, ammunition, and drugs.
As a result, the three have all been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of prohibited ammunition, unsafe storage of a firearm, unsafe storage of ammunition, possession for dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property under $5000, and possession of a controlled substance.
Hefferan has also been charged with breaching a prohibition order.
He and Kreutzer both remain in custody and are awaiting their next court appearance.
