There is one more case of COVID-19 in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Tuesday 45 new cases across the province.

This puts the provincial total at 7,781.

Fort McMurray now has 12 active cases, while 11 are active in the rural areas.

The majority of these cases are linked to a social gathering.

Across the RMWB, 25 individuals – 22 in Fort McMurray and three in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.

They are among the 7,096 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 91 per cent of the reported cases.

There are also no new deaths from COVID-19 in the province over the past 24-hours – keeping the death toll at 153.

None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.

Meanwhile, the province is allocating $10 million towards serology testing.

Multiple studies will use these tests to determine whether somebody had previously had the virus but didn’t know.
