Parade Celebrates Six Graduating Students at Bill Woodward School in Anzac

A special celebration was held over the weekend for six graduating students.

Bill Woodward School, in Anzac, held a parade on Sunday where families and friends celebrated each student’s milestone.

The event was an alternative to previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Five of the graduates, Josh Farnham, Rikki Janvier, Jayden Mann, Jared McEvoy, and Ben Provencal, are from Anzac, while Victor Bouchier is from Janvier.

Banners were also set up in the rural hamlet to celebrate their graduation.

Meanwhile, schools in the Fort McMurray Catholic School District and the Fort McMurray Public School Division, as well as Keyano College are holding celebrations throughout the rest of June.

Some, including Ecole McTavish, have already held virtual events.

In total, around 1,200 students will be graduating from either high school or college – 434 from the FMCSD, 308 from the FMPSD, and around 500 from Keyano.
