Oil Sands Discovery Centre Among Historic Sites Reopening

The Oil Sands Discovery Centre is returning to the list of things to do this summer.

The province announced on Thursday five historic sites reopening on June 20.

The sites closed back in March when the COVID-19 pandemic halted all non-essential business.

Along with the Discovery Centre, the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, Remington Carriage Museum, Reynolds-Alberta Museum, and Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village will also be opening.

New precautions have been put in place to help stop the spread of the virus with visitors being reminded to stay home if feeling unwell, be mindful of high touch areas, and to make use of their hand sanitizer stations.

Though not required to visit, a mask is recommended.

If you are unsure, you can check the Oil Sands Discovery Centre website for safety practices specific to this historic site.
