The Canada Emergency Response Benefit is being extended.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Tuesday an eight week extension for the CERB.

The program offers financial support for those who’ve lost their income due to the pandemic.

Eligible Canadians and permanent residents are able to receive $2,000 per month, $500 a week, for four straight months, and now with the extension, six months.

It is available until October 3, 2020, and can be backdated to March 15, 2020.
