RCMP Arrest Fort McMurray Man After Hit and Run, Driving Impaired

A 29-year-old Fort McMurray man is facing several charges after a hit and run in downtown.

On June 8, around 6:00 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to Prairie Loop Boulevard and Tolen Drive after getting reports of a Chevrolet Silverado crashing into a building and fleeing.

The Mounties were told the truck was driving dangerously, almost hitting other vehicles and swerving in and out of traffic.

They were able to quickly pull over the vehicle near Confederation Way and Highway 63 and arrested the driver.

Jordan Daniel Marshall has since been charged with resisting arrest, mischief over $5,000, failing to stop at an accident, driving while unauthorized, operating a conveyance dangerous to the public, operating a conveyance while failing to stop for police, operating a conveyance while impaired, and failing to provide a breath sample.

He has since been released, with his next court appearance slated for July 29.

The police are asking for anyone who would have seen the vehicle on June 8 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. to contact them at 780-788-4040.
