Deadline Approaching For Province’s Emergency Flood Evacuation Payment

You’re running out of time to apply for the province’s emergency flood evacuation payment.

The GoA announced the program at the beginning of May to help those impacted by the flood.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on June 5. The province says the process always closes 30 days following the end of the last mandatory evacuation order for impacted communities.

Through the program, adults will receive $1,250. This is per person and not per household.

Those who are under 18 will get $500.

So far, 12,262 Albertans have received a payment – equaling around $13 million.

You can apply by visiting the provincial government’s website.
