Keyano College will host the 2021 ACAC Men’s and Women’s Futsal Championships.
The top six teams, on both sides, across the province will take part in the competition from March 12 – 14, subject to COVID-19 measures.
“Huskies Athletics is excited to be named host of the 2021 ACAC Futsal Championships as it will bring many student athletes from other colleges in the ACAC to our campus and community,” said Jonathan Lambert, Director of Athletics, in a release.
“This event will not only positively impact sport in our region but showcase our community and facilities.”
Futsal has been one of the more accomplished sports at Keyano since the ACAC adopted the sport in the 2011/12 year.
The men’s team has won seven gold, one silver, and one bronze, while the women’s team has won one silver and three bronze.
“This event is a great opportunity to showcase Futsal at the collegiate level and to our region. We look forward to competing as host and have a strong support from the community as we look to win the Championships,” added Huskies Head Coach Macky Singh.
All the games will be played at the Syncrude Sports and Wellness Centre which is currently under renovations after being damaged by the flood.
