Fort McMurray Hits 3 Straight Weeks Without Any New COVID-19 Cases

Fort McMurray has now gone 21 days without any new cases of COVID-19.

In the province’s update Friday, there were 32 new cases of COVID-19 – none of which in the RMWB.

This puts the provincial total at 6,800.

There continues to be no changes to the two active cases in the region – one in Fort McMurray and one in the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation.

Twenty-three individuals across the RMWB, 21 in Fort McMurray and two in the rural areas, have recovered from the virus.

They are among the 5,801 who have recovered across the province. This represents over 85 per cent of the reported cases.

Meanwhile, two more people have passed away from the virus, putting Alberta’s death toll at 134.

None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
