Snowbirds to Fly Over Fort McMurray for Operation Inspiration Tour

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds are set to fly over Fort McMurray Friday Morning.

The flight is part of their Operation INSPIRATION where they thank Canadians for staying home and doing their part to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Weather permitting, their signature nine jet formation with white smoke tails will fly low level across the city.

Operation Inspiration began two weeks ago in Nova Scotia and will continue to make its way across Canada in the days to come.

“We’ve been asked to do what we do best… inspire Canadians,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Mike French, Commanding Officer, Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

“Through Operation INSPIRATION, we not only want to salute the front-line health-care workers, first responders, and essential workers, but also all Canadians doing their part to stop the spread of COVID-19. We want Canadians to know we’re in this with you.”

They will be flying over the community around 10:30 a.m.
