No Injuries or Threat To Public Safety After Train Derailment in Anzac

No one was injured after a train derailment in Anzac.

Earlier this week, a train carrying 16 cars of petroleum coke – an inert, non-hazardous, by-product of the refining process – derailed in the rural hamlet.

CN Rail says there have been no fires and there is no danger to public safety.

Crews have finished removing the 16 rail cars and are now working on repairing the low lying bridge over the muskeg where the derailment occurred.

The company is still investigating to determine the cause of the derailment.
