Four More COVID-19 Recoveries in Fort McMurray

Four more people have recovered from COVID-19 in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Thursday 54 new cases across the province – none of which in the RMWB.

This puts the provincial total at 6,017.

The number of active cases in Fort McMurray is now at four.

Twenty individuals in the RMWB – 18 in Fort McMurray and two in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.

They are among the 3,809 in Alberta who no longer have the virus. This represents 63 per cent of cases.

As for the outbreak at Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake site, north of Fort McMurray, Hinshaw says there are now 99 linked cases – both positive and probable.

Seventy-eight are in Alberta and 21 out of province.

On Wednesday, Imperial noted there was only one active case on-site and 23 off-site.

Meanwhile, two more individuals have passed away from COVID-19 – putting the death toll at 114.
