One More COVID-19 Case in Fort McMurray, Two Additional Recoveries in Community

One more person in Fort McMurray has contracted COVID-19.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Friday 218 new cases across the province – raising the total to 5,573.

Two more individuals have also recovered in Fort McMurray, putting the total at 7.

The new case plus the two recoveries means the total of active cases is now at 15, down from 16.

There are no new cases in the rural area, while the only two reported cases have already recovered.

The nine individuals who no longer have the virus are among 2,359 across Alberta who are no longer sick.

Meanwhile, three more people have died from COVID-19 – raising the death toll to 92.

Each of these new deaths were at a continuing care facility.
