Damage Assessment Begins on Crucial Resources

The Municipality is beginning its multi pillared recovery plan for downtown.

Five damage assessment teams are being deployed to inspect commercial properties that were not in the direct flood-zone.

Members of the assessment team include building and safety code inspectors.

Specific business that have been deemed providers of critical resources for re-entry will be assessed.

These businesses resources include key government infrastructure, grocery stores, hardware stores, gas stations, hotels, and pharmacies.

At this time, other requests for access for assessment are not being granted.

Once the damage assessments have been completed, business owners who are crucial to providing services for re-entry will be allowed to go to their properties and begin the recovery process.
