CNRL Experiencing Separate COVID-19 Cases

Two contractors with Canadian Natural Resources have tested positive for COVID-19.

Company Spokesperson Julie Woo says these individuals worked on separate sites.

It’s believed they weren’t on-site or didn’t come into contact with other workers while on-site before their symptoms started to show.

CNRL got into contact with Alberta Health Services who quickly reviewed these cases.

Woo adds they’ve been told the risk level at each site is low.

The oil company notes they continue to have significant measures in place against the virus that follows the recommendations from AHS.

CNRL is the third oil company who has had positive cases within their workers.

There continues to be an outbreak at Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake site, north of Fort McMurray, while two individuals with ties to Syncrude have tested positive.
