Keyano College is looking at possible damage of multiple buildings from the flood.
The post-secondary school announced on Wednesday drone footage of the campus shows floodwater has likely impacted sections of the main Clearwater Campus, the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre, the Bob Lamb Industrial Training Centre, and the Oil Sands Power and Engineering Lab.
They also believe their student residences, Riedel, Penhorwood, and Clearwater Hall, may also be impacted to varying degrees.
This is hasn’t been 100 per cent confirmed as they haven’t been able to complete a physical assessment of the property.
Before the main campus was evacuated, staff shut down power and moved their IT servers to the Suncor Energy Industrial Centre to ensure operations could continue.
They are still functioning, however, they are delaying the pending May 4 launch of its spring semester for a week and the opening of registration for its fall semester for a short time.
More information for staff and students can be found on Keyano’s website.
