A boil water advisory is in place for people living in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas.

Alberta Health Services has directed the RMWB to issue the advisory after reports of discolouration in the tap water.

Also impacted is Anzac, Draper, Gregoire Lake Estates, and Saprae Creek Estates.

People must boil their water before consuming.

This includes for drinking, cooking, making baby formula, making ice, washing fruits or vegetables, brushing teeth, and for pets.

People can still use water for general use and bathing as normal.

Those living south of the bridge aren’t affected at this time.
