Over 900 COVID-19 Tests Conducted in RMWB, Under One Per Cent Positive

Hundreds of individuals across Wood Buffalo have been tested for COVID-19.

Scott Davis, Director of Emergency Management for the RMWB, announced on Tuesday that he’s been told by Alberta Health Services that 917 swab tests have been completed.

Among these, nine have tested positive. This is under one per cent of the total amount of tests.

Seven of the cases are in Fort McMurray while the additional two are in the rural area.

The first four to get the virus in Fort McMurray have already recovered.

Meanwhile, there have been 6,498 tests in the north zone and a total of 79,695 across the province.

The majority of the tests have been done in the Calgary zone which continues to be hit the hardest by the virus.

As of April 14, there have been 1,242 cases and 33 deaths in the Calgary area.
