Mayor Don Scott is recovering at home after a car accident.

He was involved in a motor vehicle crash Sunday evening where he was treated by first responders at the scene.

Scott was later transported to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre where he stayed the night for assessment and observation.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our incredible first responders with Regional Emergency Services and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre for their compassion and professional care following the incident,” Scott said in a Facebook post.

“I would also like to thank the good Samaritans that stayed with me until such time as our first responders could arrive.”

Scott only suffered a minor injury in the crash.

He plans on giving an update on his condition in the coming days.
