One New Death From COVID-19 in Alberta, 64 New Cases Across Province

There is another death from COVID-19 in the province.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Tuesday the additional death from the virus which brings the total to nine.

There are 64 new cases of the virus in Alberta. This sets the provincial total at 754.

Hinshaw added that 77 of the individuals who’ve contracted the virus are health care workers.

Five of these cases were in the north zone which brings the number to 50.

According to Alberta’s case location map, there are only three confirmed cases in Fort McMurray.

The others are in High Prairie, Slave Lake, Barrhead, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Grande Prairie, Jasper, Hinton, Westlock, Peace River, High Level, and Valleyview.

Meanwhile, 75 cases are believed to be from community transmission.

Forty-nine individuals are currently being hospitalized with 17 in the intensive care unit. 120 have also recovered.
