The Fort Chipewyan Winter road will close for the season on March 26 at noon.

Motorists will no longer be able to access the road afterward and the gate will be barricaded and the rig mats will be removed.

Using the trail after it closes is not allowed and is very dangerous.

The municipality says anyone who chooses to do so will be putting others at risk.

Meanwhile, The La Loche Winter Trail, which connects Highway 811 with the Saskatchewan border, closed for motorists on March 3rd.
