42 New COVID-19 Cases in Alberta

There are 42 new cases of COVID-19 across the province.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Monday the new cases which raises the province’s total to 301.

This is less than Ontario and Quebec who, respectively, saw 78 and 219 new cases over the past 24 hours.

Only one of the new cases was in the north zone, which includes the RMWB, bringing the total to 19.

Fort McMurray continues to only have one confirmed case, believed to be a Maxx Dental employee.

The other cases are in High Prairie, Slave Lake, Barrhead, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Grande Prairie, Jasper, and Hinton.

The Calgary zone continues to be hit the hardest with 188 cases, while the Edmonton zone has 68 cases.

Meanwhile, 18 who’ve contracted the coronavirus are being treated in the hospital. Seven are in the intensive care unit.

Three people have also recovered.
