The Canadian Red Cross is warning residents about a scam involving face masks.
Multiple people across the country have received messages through text, email, and social media about receiving these masks to help stop the spread of germs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
These messages claim to be from the Red Cross.
The national organization says this isn’t a valid offer and they’re advising anyone who receives one of these messages to delete it immediately.
This means do not respond or click on the link in the message.
The Red Cross is recommending that anyone who may be the victim of fraudulent activity to get in contact with their local police.
