Police Arrest Pair After Finding Stolen Property During Traffic Stop

Police have located stolen property following a traffic stop last month.

On December 10, around 10:30 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP and the Wood Buffalo Crime Reduction Unit conducted the stop.

The vehicle fled from police but came to a stop not long after, as the occupants fled on foot.

Police recovered the vehicle which was confirmed to be stolen as well as a large number of stolen items.

Two individuals were located and arrested with the help of Police Dog Services and they have since been brought before a judge for a bail hearing.

40-year-old Cody Richard Stephen of Edmonton and 31-year-old Teryl Lisa Burk of Fort McMurray have been charged with multiple offences.

This includes possession of property obtained by crime, break & enter, mischief, obstruction and resisting a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply.
