The HUB Family Resource Centre (the Hub) is applying for funding – following Alberta’s contract termination with Parent Link Centre.

The provincial government announced in November that all contracts would be terminated as of March 31, 2020, and a new model of Family Resource Networks would be introduced.

Family Resource Networks are intended to support families with kids ages 0-18.

The Hub is actively reviewing the process and requirements with full intentions to submit its application to secure funding in order to continue their services.

In a release, the organization says financial assistance from the province has been a substantial piece of their funding model for several years.

They note while the new changes allow for some uncertainty, they are optimistic and excited for the opportunity to work with other agencies and support families even further under the new model.

Since 2003, the Hub’s programs and services have been a core part of the community and the region.

They add they intend to continue providing a safe space to learn through play, make connections and access support.
