Wood Buffalo RCMP Arrest Pair On Drug And Firearm Charges

A Fort McMurray man and a woman from Gregoire Lake Estates have been arrested on numerous drug and firearm charges.

On December 3, Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response team located and arrested 31-year old Jeffrey Derrick Heffernan along with 25-year-old Daphanie Carol Lee Kreutzer – within the Gregoire Lake Reserve.

Hefferan, who was wanted on numerous firearm-related charges, was located in a stolen vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, police found what appeared to be methamphetamine, firearms, stolen property and evidence of drug trafficking.

Hefferan is being charged with 29 total different offences.

The charges include possession of a firearm without holding a license, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of an instrument for forging credit cards.

He remains in custody.

Kreutzer meanwhile, has been charged with 21 different offences, including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of an instrument for forging credit cards.

She has been released on a no-cash recognizance with numerous conditions.

Both are scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on December 16.
