A fundraiser is being held to ensure special needs children can get a party this holiday season.
The Nistawoyou Friendship Centre and McMan are partnering to host a bingo night to help raise funds.
McMan is hosting their annual Christmas Party for the children with the majority in attendance having some sort of disability.
Outreach Coordinator Steve Dmytrow tells Mix News they want to ensure every kids in the region can enjoy the holidays.
“It gives the children one memorable event, they’ll be getting pictures with Santa Claus, there’s lot of great fun activities for them there and it actually gives the parents a break too – it’s something they look forward to year-round.”
This has been an annual tradition for the organizations for multiple decades.
Around 250 people are expected to take part in the festivities.
“Individuals and clients sign up year-round. We’re at capacity now, that’s how popular this party is, but by all means in the following year,” added Dmytrow.
Through the bingo fundraiser, they’re hoping to raise over $6,000. The funds will also be used to help host another Christmas Party being held by the Nistawoyou Friendship Centre.
You can buy tickets by contacting Nistawoyou or McMan.
It’s being held on November 29 at the Friendship Centre.
